11-11: Memories Retold Announcement
Bandai Namco hat eine Zusammenarbeit mit Aardman Studios und DigixArt bekannt gegeben. Ihr neues Spiel hat den Titel "11-11: MEMORIES RETOLD". Das Spiel soll ein "narrative adventure" sein und erzählt eine bewegende Geschichte aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg. Aardman Studios haben beispielsweise auch in Wallace and Gromit oder Shaun the Sheep mitgewirkt. Die offizielle Beschreibung liest sich wie folgt: "11-11: Memories Retold is a story-driven narrative adventure, presented within a breathtaking art style reminiscent of paintings, that will deliver a wholly unique experience.11-11: Memories Retold brings together amazing talents from game and animation studios, along with top music production, and narration to create a grippingly emotional story experienced through the lens of World War I."
“Engaging audiences with compelling stories through animation is at the heart of what we are trying to do at Aardman. With this project we want to produce an emotionally rich experience with distinctive visual character to help you understand what war is all about.”, sagte Gründer von Aardman Dave Sproxton im offiziellen Statement.
DigixArt und Bandai Namco äußerten sich ebenfalls sehr positiv über die Zusammenarbeit. “11-11: Memories Retold is a very special game at many levels. From the painted style to the emotional journey we create for the player to revive their heritage, we are pushing the boundaries of what a game can be and hope it will leave a mark on you.”, sagte Yoan Fanise (Game Director DigixArt). Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing, Bandai Namco Entertainment America: “We are thrilled to be able to partner with the incredibly talented teams at Aardman Studios and DigixArt. Their passion and vision behind the sorts of emotions video games can illicit is very exciting to witness.”
Neben der Ankündigung gab es auch Screenshots und einen ersten Trailer zum Spiel, welcher das Gedicht "In Flanders Fields" von John McRae beinhaltet und gleichzeitig Artstyle des Spiels aufzeigt. John McCrae war selbst Soldat und schrieb das Gedicht auf Grund des Todes von seinem Freund welcher ebenfalls mit ihm diente. "In Flanders Field" ist für eines der bekanntesten Gedichte welches aus dem ersten Weltkrieg stammt.
